It’s Friday, Boston won the world series, the newest Apple tablet has arrived, and it’s iPad Air unboxing time – possibly the best day ever, but I digress. I don’t usually get up early, but when I do, it’s to buy an Apple product or to watch the Premier League. With a 45-minute wait at my local Apple store, I finally landed a 32GB silver/white T-Mobile 4G iPad Air. So sit back and enjoy my full iPad Air unboxing and first look.
iPad Air Build and Design:
At only 7.5mm and weighing less than 1 pound, this is Apple lightest and best-looking tablet yet. The iPad mini inspired Air the long awaited design refresh that all iPad owners have been yearning for since the iPad mini was released last year. Apples new iPad Air is 20 percent thinner and 28 percent lighter than the 4th-generation iPad, and with a 43 percent narrower bezel the borders of iPad Air are dramatically thinner. To sum it up for you, the iPad Air is thinner, lighter and more powerful than pretty much any other tablet on the market.
iPad Air Pricing:
Apple has given us no surprises when it comes to the price of their new flagship tablet. The device will replace last year’s iPad 4 in terms of price points and starts at $499 for the WiFi 16GB model.
iPad Air Availability:
At the moment the iPad Air looks to be at healthy inventory level across all channels. At Apple’s online store the tablet is showing to be in full stock across all sizes, colors and carriers with a Nov. 4th ship date. The iPad Air is also available at retailers such as Target, Wal-Mart, Amazon and Best Buy. Before heading out to make that purchase, I would call your local store to check inventory levels or use this nifty iPad Air inventory tracker tool here.
