A job advertisement seeking a senior designer to help create a “next generation streaming music platform” is all the proof that exists at this point, but Engadget<\/a> reports it appears that premium electronics maker Bose is going to develop a streaming music service to rival popular options like Pandora and Spotify.<\/p>\n

What could a new Bose music service look like for music lovers?<\/p>\n

Device and Service Compatibility<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Engadget report suggests that Bose is looking to coordinate a new streaming music service with an “ecosystem of products.” This could indicate that fans of top-tier audio quality would have a branded service they could easily access from the premiere sound items Bose is known for, such as the company’s noise-cancelling headphones or SoundTouch speakers.<\/p>\n

Help With Networked Services<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Bose initiative comes at a time when people are setting up their own Home Area Networks (HANs) for connecting all sorts of home theater and sound devices to interact with one another seamlessly. Gone are the days of cabled hardware setups managed by an onsite receiver and seemingly endless wires. Now, consumer wireless networking platforms, including those from Bose, can link home audio into all sorts of other devices in users’ homes. Bose loyalists might find it easier to connect to the company’s own streaming music platform, especially for simplicity and consistency across the company’s products.<\/p>\n

Many of the existing streaming music services that people use are not connected to an actual audio hardware provider.
