The new addition is intended\u00a0to attract customers with\u00a0the same powerful features that iPad Pro pioneered last September, but in a more compact, travel-friendly size.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro looks identical to the aging iPad Air 2, which is now 18 months old. In fact, the two devices have the exact same size\u00a0dimensions (9.4 x 6.6 x 0.24 inches) <em>and<\/em>\u00a0weight\u00a0(0.98 \/ 0.96lbs for cellular\/non-cellular), according to a\u00a0comparison by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/gordonkelly\/2016\/03\/23\/ipad-pro-9-7-inch-vs-ipad-pro-12-9-inch-whats-the-difference\/#51bc0dc12d65\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Forbes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The new iPad Pro boasts so many advanced features that Apple couldn&#8217;t consider it a new version of the Air. But that hasn&#8217;t stopped current iPad Air 2 users from planning to make the upgrade.<\/p>\n<p>Gazelle data analysts dug up some compelling stats to prove that point. On March 21, the day of Apple&#8217;s Media Event, Gazelle saw a\u00a0<strong>1,844%<\/strong> increase in iPad Air 2 trade-ins\u00a0when compared to the same period two weeks prior. The iPad Air 2 was the model with the highest spike in trade-ins, proving that Air customers are ready for a more powerful, yet equally sized device.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gazellethehorn.com\/thehorn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/iPad-trade-in-increases-blog2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6731\" style=\"max-width: 100%; height: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/gazellethehorn.com\/thehorn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/iPad-trade-in-increases-blog2.png\" alt=\"iPad trade-in increases\" width=\"600\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gazelle.com\/thehorn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/iPad-trade-in-increases-blog2.png 600w, https:\/\/www.gazelle.com\/thehorn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/iPad-trade-in-increases-blog2-150x75.png 150w, https:\/\/www.gazelle.com\/thehorn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/iPad-trade-in-increases-blog2-300x150.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The second\u00a0strongest model is, not surprisingly, the iPad Pro with a <strong>1,540%<\/strong> bump in trade-ins when compared to the same period two weeks prior. When examined collectively, all iPad\u00a0models increased by <strong>758%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Clearly, there is strong\u00a0demand for the new, more affordable iPad
