One never knows when they\u2019ll have to scroll back into their messages for something. However, these texts take up a serious amount of storage in your iPhone. To switch off the \u201cForever\u201d option for texts, simply go to <strong>Settings<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Messages<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Keep<\/strong> <strong>Messages<\/strong>. Here, you can choose from \u201c30 Days\u201d, \u201c1 Year\u201d or \u201cForever\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">Filter out your photos.<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>These are usually the first to go when the annoying running-out-of-storage notice pops up. Instead of hastily deleting your recent photos, try a few other alternatives. Instagram and photo editing apps create their own albums in your library, often duplicating photos and taking up space. \u00a0If you\u2019re looking to free up more storage, delete any duplicate photos or iMessage photos and turn off your Photo Streaming.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-8523 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/gazellethehorn.com\/thehorn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Capture-2-300x191.png\" alt=\"Capture\" width=\"300\" height=\"191\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gazelle.com\/thehorn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Capture-2-300x191.png 300w, https:\/\/www.gazelle.com\/thehorn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Capture-2-150x96.png 150w, https:\/\/www.gazelle.com\/thehorn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Capture-2.png 530w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">Delete your browser history (yes, really).<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Clearing up your data and cookies in your settings can truly alleviate some of the bulk that is slowing down your iPhone. To clear your browser history, go to <strong>Settings<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Safari<\/strong> &gt; and tap \u201c<strong>Clear History and Website Data<\/strong>\u201d. This isn\u2019t the top storage-saving approach, but it will still help with clearing up space and improving the speed of your iPhone.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">Clean up your apps.<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>There was a time on iPhone that the stagnant iOS apps remained permanently on the home screen. With more recent updates, it\u2019s now possible to delete these apps along with others you may rarely touch. \u00a0To check the apps you aren\u2019t using often, go to <strong>Settings<\/strong> &gt; <strong>General<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Storage<\/strong> <strong>&amp; iCloud Usage<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Manage Storage <\/strong>&gt; <strong>[YourName]\u2019s iPhone<\/strong>. One way is taking the first tip mentioned and applying it to your emails as well, completed through <strong>Settings<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Mail<\/strong>.
