The holidays come with a special set of everything—decorations, food, music, sweaters, traditions, and, of course, drinks. This holiday season, get creative and learn how to make some great new cocktails with the best apps for holiday drink recipes.

8,500+ Drink and Cocktail Recipes Free (Free, iOS and Android)

The name is pretty descriptive—this app offers loads of recipe options, including many variations on popular drinks to give you the version you like best. For example, it provides six different ways to mix a lemon drop! This app features a random search function, if you want to take a risk on a new drink, and lets you save your favorites so you don’t forget what you discovered if you happen to like a random suggestion.

Drink and Cocktail Pro Lite – (Free or $0.99 for the full version, iOS)

One of the standout search options of this app is the ability to narrow down drinks by which ingredients you have on hand. It is incredibly frustrating to find recipes that look delicious and are right for the occasion, only to discover that you are missing one obscure ingredient. This feature eliminates that problem, and makes it easier to discover unknown drinks with ingredients you do not typically use. The Lite version includes over 7,000 drinks, while the full version includes over 20,000!

Top Martini Recipes – (Free, iOS)

This app is quite possibly the best source for martini recipes anywhere. Browse the list for one that sounds interesting, then check out photos, the list of ingredients, and quick instructions. Shake your phone for a random suggestion and an old-fashioned cocktail shaker graphic.

Drinkspiration by Absolut – (Free, iOS and Android)

Rather than offering a flood of drink recipes, Drinkspiration offers about 500. This is still a large number of cocktails, and it is unlikely that users will run out of ideas with this app. Absolut focuses on providing a very functional and fun app instead of massive quantities of recipes, and it shows in the great pictures and easy-to-follow instructions. The app has some unique features as well, like the ability to factor in location, time of day, and background noise when recommending drinks. Drinks are generally categorized by the main liquor used, including vodka, gin, rum, whiskey, tequila, or brandy.

Have you stumbled upon any great new cocktails using apps for holiday drink recipes? What are some of your favorites?
